Nobody Nobody But You

This morning we woke up early to go to Jeungdongjin to see the sunrise over the ocean. Waking up at 5 am to catch our 6 am train wasn't much fun - but it was totally worth it. It was pretty crowed at sunrise point - I don't know if it's always crowed or if it was because it's valentine's day. It was quite romantic and made me miss jb even more than usual.

When we got back home, Muffy's friend Jose (who is visiting) had breakfast waiting for us. It was a great spread with everything from omelets to french toast. After breakfast we went back to bed for a long nap - and when we woke up we just sat around and chatted until it was time for dinner.

For dinner a big group of people got together for Muffy's birthday celebration. We had pumpkin duck - which is duck that is cooked in a pumpkin. The duck is incredibly delicious and kind of tastes like ham and the pumpkin is really soft and sweet. At this meal I also had my first taste of soju - a Korean liquor that tastes a little like watered down vodka.

After we'd stuffed ourselves with pumpkin duck we headed down to the Gyeongpo beach for a bonfire. We gathered kindling, dug a ditch in the sand, lit the fire and sat on the beach and drank beer, sang, and talked. It was a lot of fun - but again it made me miss jb. The firelight and the beach - and there were swings overlooking the ocean that would be perfect for two. I hate being apart, but it's nice to have someone to miss this much.
