Today is our 8th anniversary. I suppose eight isn't a big milestone anniversary, but I think it's kinda special because if you knock the number eight on it's side it's the infinity symbol - so I think it's a pretty good sign that jb and I are as snug as two bugs in a rug on our eighth anniversary. We don't have any big plans - we've suspended our usual anniversary B&B trip to save money, but I'm pretty pleased with our evening of staying-in, ordering Thai food, and cuddling on the couch.
jb and I met eight years ago today when we were both students at Pitt and attending a USSA legislative conference. jb was 18 and I was 20. jb had a long blond ponytail (I know!) and I had short spiky hair. I was about a million pounds lighter. We were kids. jb's opening line was "Do you want some dried pineapple?" It was exciting, confusing, amazing, complicated, and perfect. We only have a handful of grainy pictures taken with a disposable camera from that first weekend - and since today is also the day that I learned how to work our scanner, I've posted them below.
Here's hoping that in another eight years we're looking back on today and marvelling at how young and carefree we were.
