Our family welcomed the new year happily. We went to a neighbor's house for dinner on New Year's Eve. The kids ate first.
Then they watched a movie while the adults ate (this is a genius plan!).
Then at around 9 pm we had a "balloon drop" for the kids.
Actually we had like five of them - and it never got old. The kids so very much wanted to count down with us each time but I think counting backwards blew their minds a little. Also, they were exhausted.
We were home by nine thirty and we banged pots and pans on the front porch while yelling "Happy New Year!"
Kids were asleep by ten and jb and I stayed up to kiss at midnight.
This morning we attended the yearly Philly Family Pride New Year's brunch. There was square dancing, story time, and Lego building.
Of course the main attraction was the build your own sundae bar.
Friends and ice-cream. Is there a better way to start the year?
I think not.
Finally read your blog! It only took a year and a half! :) I love the idea of a homemade balloon drop--next year I'll have to remember to add that in to our festivities!
