Olde Lang Syne

Another year is over and another one is beginning. jb and I spent the night in last night sipping hot cocoa and watching movies. We'd gotten a couple invites for New Year's festivities, but between having been apart lately and the weather we just laid low. It was actually quite lovely. This morning we joined some neighbors for a fantastic brunch.

A lot has happened since last year. Here are the standouts:

• We opened up the floorplan of our apartment with arches - and promptly ran out of money leaving our home a construction zone for the rest of the year
• The anniversary curse is still going strong - for our 7th we braved a raging snowstorm to get snowed in at a B&B in Cleveland
• Edie Carey played at Hoi Polloi
• jb and I shared a lovely weekend in Providence
• The iphone 3G changed my life forever
• jb joined an outdoor soccer league
• We bought our first new car
• We broke the birthday curse! - Great August camping trip with the whole family
• Steph went to Korea for the year
• We were afraid jb might go blind - horrible corneal ulcer that called for daily trips to the opthamologist for a month
• I walked in the Great Race
• Unspeakable sadness
• jb took me to see Wicked
  
• My grandma died
• Prop 8 passed despite the thousands of phone calls I made
• Obama was elected the next president of the U.S.
• We broke the Thanksgiving curse! - Aunt Karen and Uncle Dave in Cincinnati
  
• 10 year high school reunion
• Hoi Polloi open for a full year
• Mexico trip with Dan
