Water Fire Festival

Each night I'm more and more tired at the end of the night. This means that the posts are becoming less words and more pictures. Please bear with me.

Today is Muffy's birthday so I woke up early to make her breakfast in bed.

Then we headed to Sokcho (a nearby city) with Muffy's friends Kasha and Marta for Sokcho's Water Fire Festival.

When we arrived we participated in some activities in the tents - I made a clay pot at a potter's wheel (with some help) and we made lollipops by melting sugar and baking soda.

Then we went for dinner.

After that we watched a play - and Marta was brought up on stage and dressed up in a hat and robe. This was so funny because at one point she was supposed to read a scroll - but she doesn't read/speak Korean, so it was unintentionally hilarious.

After the play we all filed out of the theater and were handed tiki torches and we walked down to the water to watch a light show on the water.

There was more - a large bonfire, a b-boy dance troop, bonsai... But I am really so tired I can barely keep my eyes open.
